Byron:
It is extreme clear that there is a strong increase in the amount of violence women commit each year. Although this goes along with the trend that males also are committing more violent acts, maintaining as similar a ratio as there always has been, it still begs the questions as to why there is an increase and what are the motivations that cause violence in women. Women tend to have very different social backgrounds compared to males and as such, have very different reasons for being violent.

Below is a researched listing as to the common reasons believed to antagonize violence in females:
  • Assertive women's movement promoting delinquent behavior
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Low self-esteem
  • A realization that one's future looks grim

Girls are more likely than boys to murder someone as a result of a conflict rather than during a crime. It has been proven that the violence done by women have increased over the years. 18% of males carry a weapon to school and record high 5% of females carrys a weapon to school.

It is clearly showen that womens violence is increasing. The women typically involved with violence are females that have sexual abused, assertive women's movement promoting delinquent behavior, and have a low self-esteem.

Crimes by woman have increased over the last decade. Although boys are most likely to carry a weapon or get arrested, girls are just as likely to commit some sort of crime. A lot of girls also join gangs so they can learn skills to survive in their communities, which causes them to be violent. Some reasons for violence in woman could be: sexual abuse, low self esteem or recognition.

It shows that there has been an increase in violence in women from 1994-2002. Woman who were previously a victim of a violent act are twice as likely to commit one. The murder arrest rate is up 64 percent for woman. Boys are two to three times more likely to carry a weapon than a girl. The ration in boys to girl’s arrests is pretty much the same. The reason for this is because although women are creating more violent acts men are too.
